Position, Velocity, and Acceleration

Today in my AP Calculus class, I tried something that I never have before. Attending an AP Calculus professional development, I learned a neat way to teach position, velocity, and the effect of acceleration on the speed of a particle.

I used what I learned and my students said that it really helped them learn the concepts and effects of acceleration.

We are continuing to work really hard. AP CALCULUS RULES!!!

AP Calculus

I am so glad to be teaching such a smart bunch of AP Calculus students. EVERYONE is working hard and doing great. I just finished grading one of their tests and everyone did fine. I am so excited! Let's all keep up the hard work and it WILL pay off at the end.

Go Big Blue!

As you all probably know, I am a huge Kentucky Wildcat fan. A friend from church invited me to go watch the Auburn - Kentucky football game this past Saturday. I accepted and froze my butt off, but had a good time. Sorry to all of the Auburn fans out there. Kentucky has a decent football team I guess, however I am definitely looking forward to the basketball season this year. GO BLUE!

Sonny's Hair Cut

Sonny got a haircut yesterday. They had to shave the top of his head and his tail because of matted hair. The spots on his back is where he had a skin infection and his hair grew back darker. This was his color when he was a pup, so I am hoping that his hair will eventually change back to the light color soon.

Severe Weather

Last week severe storms went through Tompkinsville, KY (this is my hometown). The National Weather Service looked at the damage and came to the conclusion that the wind damage constituted an F2 tornado. It damaged some trees and fences on our farm. Here are some pictures of the damage. It also ripped the roof off of two neighboring houses.
